What our review scores actually mean
We get asked about our scores a lot, so let's be plain. Anything we bother to review has already survived a week of daily play, which means the truly broken stuff never makes the catalogue in the first place. A 3.8 from us is still a game worth your time under the right conditions.
The number is a shorthand for how much we'd recommend it to a general reader, weighing controls, pacing, and whether there's a reason to keep playing. It is not a measure of technical perfection or how much money went into it.
We deliberately avoid clustering everything at 4.5. If two games sit a few points apart, that gap is meaningful and the review text explains it. Read the reasoning, not just the digit.
And remember that our taste is ours. We love tower defence and we're picky about racers, and that bias shows. A game we found merely fine might be exactly your thing — the write-up is there to help you tell.
