Ironvale Siege

★★★★★ 4.6 Editor rating

Ironvale Siege is proper base-building strategy that respects your time better than most. You lay out walls, manage a small pool of workers, and defend against raids that get smarter the longer you survive. The enemy AI actually probes your weak flank, which forced me to stop copying the same layout every match.

The pacing is the clever bit. Rounds run about fifteen minutes, so you get a full arc — buildup, panic, recovery — without a two-hour commitment. Resource management never gets fiddly, and the tech tree is small enough to hold in your head.

It stumbles a little on late-game balance, where one archer-heavy build feels stronger than it should. But the moment-to-moment decisions are genuinely tense, and I kept starting 'one more' campaigns well past midnight.
